ABOUT US

This zine started as a Women’s Theatre Society project, inspired by the work of Eve Ensler, but it attracted minds from all over the University of Manchester. Our aim was to give women a platform to share their stories and experiences, and to be fearless and proud when doing so. We wanted to make sure that we were doing our utmost to be inclusive to everyone that defines themselves as a woman. Whilst we are proud to exhibit the diversity of our monologues, we are aware that we could have been more so, but we hope that our work is still able to reflect a variety of themes, voices, and styles of the monologues. We started this project as a performance, with all kinds of women prepared to go on stage and bare their souls to the audience. However, due to the COVID-19 restrictions we had to call it off, so we are proud to showcase the work of our cast in a zine format. Each monologue is completely original, and each author should be incredibly proud of the artwork they have produced. It is a pleasure to share it with all of you!
